Violinists Emma Chang and Lily Kimble, Fox Land High School students open our 2025 Young Artists Series.        The Library is pleased to showcase these talented young musicians.

Emma Xiong (Chang), a Fox Lane High School junior, has been playing the violin since age 8
and studying with Ann Leathers. She recently performed at the Merkin Concert Hall in New
York City after winning the Second Prize in the 2025 Vivo International Spring Music
Competition. In the same year, she also led a Fox Lane High School string quartet selected as
semi-finalists in the 5th Annual Young Musicians chamber music competition, which later
performed at the Westchester-Hudson Valley-Connecticut Regional Concert. Having played in
the NY Area All-State Orchestra, she has also enjoyed sharing the concertmaster
responsibilities in leading the Fox Lane High School Chamber Orchestra and Sinfonia string
ensemble since 9th grade. Emma appreciates the wonderful opportunity and is looking forward
to her first violin recital at the Pound Ridge Library!

Lily Kimble is a rising senior at Fox Lane High School. She has played
violin for 8 years and currently studies under Christina Khimm Rosand.
Most recently, her Fox Lane quartet was a semi-finalist in the Young
Musicians Concert, hosted by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln
Center. She has played for the Norwalk Youth Symphony and most
recently for the Precollege Symphony Orchestra at Manhattan School of
Music. She has been in her school's chamber orchestra since 9th grade,
where she has shared leadership responsibilities for both the Chamber
Orchestra and the Sinfonia group. She enjoys spending time in musical
activities, such as playing in the pit orchestra for the school musical. This
past year she was concert master of the Area All-State orchestra and was
also invited to the annual NYSSMA All-State conference. Lily also enjoys
singing and learning new instruments. She is excited to play in her very first
recital at the library!
