Event Details
The Pound Ridge Library and the Pound Ridge Community Church collaborate in presenting a special musical event. We are pleased to present a piano and oboe concert which will be held at the Pound Ridge Community Church. The concert features acclaimed artists Kyong Hee Cho, pianist and Pound Ridge resident, and Ralph Kimser, oboist from Wilton. The program will include works by Beethoven, Schumann, Pual Dukana and Johann Wenzel Kalliwoda. We invite you to welcome Spring by joining us in an afternoon of beautiful music.
Kyong Hee Cho began her piano career in Korea at the age of four and performed her first concert with the Seoul Symphony at age eleven. As a merit scholar at the Manhattan School of Music, she earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in piano performance.
Kyong Hee has performed numerous solo concerts to benefit international medical and disaster relief efforts. She currently serves as the Music Director at Huntington United Methodist Church in Shelton, CT, and teaches piano at her studio in Wilton, CT, where she leads her students in planning and performing benefit concerts.
Ralph Kirmser is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Yale School of Medicine. He has been oboist for the Madera Winds Quintet for five years. Prior to that, he was oboist for the Prevailing Winds of Connecticut and Morningside Wind Quintet of New York City. In 2000, he was oboist for Orvieto Musica in Orvieto, Italy. He is a regular participant at the Bennington Chamber Music Conference and has served on its Board of Trustees. While an undergraduate at Dartmouth, Dr. Kirmser was principal oboe for the Vermont Symphony. Dr. Kirmser is a cardiologist with Cardiology Physicians of Fairfield County and practices in Norwalk. He is a resident of Wilton, CT and has lived there with his wife and their three children for over 40 years.
