The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly – Behind the Classical Music Scenes

The final product is divine, and the audience walks away deeply satisfied. However, behind the scenes, what do you think goes on in the lives of singers, players, conductors, managers, coaches, concert hall staff and publicists in the weeks and months leading up to the concert? It is far from smooth sailing. The answers will surprise and intrigue you!

You won’t want to miss this amazing musical journey with piano demonstrations presented by conductor, professor, music historian and author, Dr. Harold Rosenbaum!

Dr. Harold Rosenbaum is a retired professor from Juilliard as well as the University of Buffalo, Adelphi Univrsity and Queens College. He is the founder of the Westchester Oratorio Society, and Music Director at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Katonah.   He taught Music Appreciation and many other courses during his 45-year teaching career. He is the founder of the all-professional choir, The New York Virtuoso Singers, now in its 37th season. He has conducted 600 world premieres, has toured with choirs 29 times in Europe, and has conducted about 1900 concerts in his 55-year career. His numerous awards include the Ditson Conductor’s Award, ASCAP’s Victor Herbert Award and the American Composer’s Alliance’s Laurel Leaf Award. See www.haroldrosenbaum.com and www.nyvirtuoso.org.
